Jeren Kendall Gets Drafted in MLB 2014 Amateur Baseball Draft

Jeren KendallJeren Kendall (Holmen High School, Class of 2014) was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 30th round of the MLB Amateur Draft. Kendall was ranked the 88th best baseball player in the draft according to Baseball America. Baseball experts who cover the draft expected Jeren to go much higher. Scouts knew that Jeren was committed to going to Vanderbilt (NCAA Division I National Champs) and that was the reason he was drafted so low in the draft. Jeren batted .521 for his high school team with a slugging percentage of 1.000. Jeren has excellent speed (60 yard dash time 6.6) with a throwing velocity of 92-94 mph. Jeren was the TOPhigh school baseball prospect by Wisconsin Baseball Report for 2014. Jeren played on the Wisconsin All-Stars (Wisconsin #1 High School Exposure Showcase Team) in 2012.
